Prioritizing Your Wedding // Wedding Tip Wednesday // Champagne + Linen // Western Montana Wedding Designers and Planners
Now that you have insured your ring, taken your engagement pictures, and chosen your bridal tribe, it’s time to get into the nitty gritty.
You gotta finalize a budget. Grab your fiance, pour yourselves a large glass of wine, and talk money. I’m sure it’s not the first time and definitely won’t be the last.
Once you have your budget finalize - by budget I mean a specific number or small range - you can start prioritizing your wedding. This means ranking all the possible vendors and expenses. Here are some items to keep in mind:
Date // Do you have a specific date in mind? Season? Keep in mind that vendors usually offer major off season (October to April ish) discounts.
We’re new to this whole blogging thing, but we’ve noticed this “mood board” trend. Basically a bunch of pretty pictures put together that represents your current mood. I was down for the challenge.
Currently it is a whopping -1 degree outside. I am sitting in my living room wearing my zebra footie pajamas trying to map out the remaining steps of my fireplace project.
If you have ever met me, you probably have heard me talk about this damn fireplace. I found a fireplace mantel - aka just the wood part - and am using it to create this crazy faux fireplace below my TV with some “built ins.” I started this project at least three months ago and am determined to finish it today.
These pictures were inspired by the colors of my future fireplace and my desire to just cuddle up on the couch with a cup - or pot - of coffee, watch The Hills, and forget all responsibilities.
I have a ton of passions in life. I’m passionate about my work, about my marriage, about books, about mac & cheese, wine, and cats. I love being passionate about things. But one of my biggest passions is makeup. I love love love getting done up for my days, my nights, for my wife, but most important for me. Let’s get real here. Getting done up makes me feel better for many reasons, but most of all I just like feeling at my best.
I’ve been obsessed with makeup for as long as I can remember. My mom wasn’t about putting much on, and none of the other females around me were that into it either (which is great, btw. You do you!). But me on the other hand, I had an obsession. I loved going to Target on a (more than) weekly basis to peruse CoverGirl, Maybelline, and Revlon for the latest and the greatest to try out. I, like many others, fell prey to the blue eye-shadow trends, the hotter than hell pink lip gloss, the too-much-bronzer-to-function phase and as all teen girls (and some guys-no discrimination here) of the 00’s, the wayyyyyyyyy too much black eye-liner phase. You name it, I’ve probably done it.
Congrats sista friend! You got yourself a special person and a nice new shiny ring on your finger! Now, as you daydream about your big day (your beautiful dress, the breathtaking view behind the altar, flying doves*) who do you picture standing behind you as you marry the person of your dreams?
Who are your people, your squad, the girls who have seen you at your absolute best and absolute worst?
Follow up question: how are you going to ask said people to be a part of this milestone?
