Every good makeup junkie has their thing. Their thing that they can’t get enough of, the “all hail” product that will forever trump (no pun intended, folks) every other product in line of importance in their holy routine. For me, it's eye shadow. I NEVER buy the cheap stuff. Been there, done that, nope nope nope. Call me a snob, call me an elitist, call me what you will. I proudly stand by my obsession with eye shadow and my demand for the best. I’ve tried it all, and I promise that there will be so many eye shadow blog posts you will want to take my palette of the moment and throw it at me! Today though, I’ve gotta rave about the palette I used for my wedding. Yep, you heard me. I did my own makeup on my wedding, and I’m so glad I did. There are a lot of great reasons to do your own, which maybe I’ll do a separate post on eventually! Let me set something straight, I’m an au-naturale gal when it comes to the shades I use most often for my eye shadow. I don’t do the blues, purples, or greens (of the bright shades). I stick with the muted, blendable shades. Boring? Probably. Nobody accused the girl on the couch on a Friday night with a tub of Ben & Jerry’s and the latest episode of ‘Mistresses’ of being too exciting. The Holy Grail of neutral, beautiful, and blendable pallets is Loracs Pro Matte Palette. It has two different shade rows, one of the brown value and one of the burgundy value. I used the brown on my wedding day for various purposes, but mostly because it gave me a very classic look that I won’t regret ten years down the road looking back at pictures! The burgundy is gorgeous as well, but it just wasn’t the look I was going for on my wedding day. All of the shades are matte, and so easily blendable and creamy (even though they are powder). I don’t know if I have ever used such luxurious colors in my life. And as I said, this girl is the Queen of Sheba when it comes to the eye shadow. I like it served to me on a gold platter with some fancy grapes on the side, yo. If I had to recommend one single palette to use every day for the rest of your life (that’s preposterous, I know), I would probably recommend this one. You can dress it up, dress it down, use for your sophisticated work days or your sexy night out with your boo thang (just add more of the darker shades to amp it up a level or two!) What is your favorite palette? Drop us a line, a recommendation or just to comment! Maybe I’ll learn of a new palette to try! Ciao, Bella! Ariel
