I know that everyone says it, but Christmas is my favorite holiday under the sun. I love everything about it. I love the holiday cheer, the decorated trees, the drunken holiday parties and I even love Santa, that sneaky son of a gun. But my favorite part about winter in general, is being cuddled up with your bae under the covers with a cup of hot cocoa (that may or may not have a few shots of Baileys in it). Side note: least favorite part about Christmas is this horrifying Elf on the Shelf business...that little creep needs a new hobby that’s not torturing me. When C+L first started and we were coming up with all of our styled shoots for the year we were going to do, I instantly established the holiday shoot as my prime time designing game. My idea for the shoot evolved over the year, going from black tie glam and glitzy ballroom status, to what it eventually turned into; modern cozy crossover, with a substantial amount of glitz thrown in. But that wasn’t enough for me, I needed EXTRA, people. I had to make this shoot next level. So what did I do? I threw in a couple of velvet blazers, and I found us some damned majestic horses and a carriage to really take it to the next level. We all know that Betty and Grace stole the show (obviously). Finally, as always, the most important piece of the work we do is that we represent all couples out there. Doug and Joe have been acquaintances of mine for some time, but only recently I’ve been able to call them my friends. They are a true and honest couple, that have been together almost 20 years (do I see an anniversary party in the near future?!)!! Check out how in love they are *heart eye emoji* Mariah and I loved putting this shoot together, but it was a bear. From the 18 setting table (phew!), to the 30+ desserts the incredible Bernice's Bakery was so generous to supply, to our trek out to Corvallis to meet Betty and Grace, this was a long day. But we couldn’t be more excited for how the results turned out, and as always, are so happy to share it with all of you.
