Raise your hand if you have ever wondered how to make your lips sexy foxy lady lips! *everyone raises their hands* Repeat after me, NO SHAME.  I like having sexy foxy lady lips just as much as the next sassy broad.  But, how do we get them?  I swear to sweet baby Jesus, there are more shitty lip products on the market  than there are good ones.  It is so damned hard to find a good lipstick that has excellent pigment, staying power, and doesn’t make your lips feel like crap.

So what do you recommend? // Wellllllll, if you have ever wondered what the Kylie Lip Kits do for you, but are too damned poor to shell out the cash, I am here to give you all the dirty deets.  I only got one cause my BFFL bought me one of the holiday edition kits, it was literally like Christmas.  I have been DYING to try one of the lip kits since those stupid things hit the internet, cause, well, Kylie.  Even if you are too damned ashamed to admit it, you KNOW you wanted one too.  So for those of you who are hiding behind the pretense that you hate everything Kardashian, I am here to give you an honest review and opinion on how this worked out for me so that you don’t have to fess up.

First off, my kit came in a LUXURIOUS AF package.  The packaging is, as you all know (cause you have been stalking the kits since their birth), the drippy lip gloss signature is on the outside of the box, and it came in a damned velvet pouch.  Happy Holidays, y’all.  My heart was beating out of my chest, my eyes glazed over, and my mouth was drooling a little bit as I took the liner and gloss out of its packaging, preparing to apply for the first time.  Now, this color is called Merry.  AKA the perfect red.  Not too bright, but not too vampire either.  Perfect combo.

The directions instruct you to line and fill in your lips with the liner, which I did.  Now, this liner is really smooth, almost a little too smooth.  Borderline slippery, which isn’t cute.  It makes it hard to get good traction on your lips to make a steady outline.  But, it’s good pigment and seems pretty high quality to me, so I kept on going.  Next I put on the gloss.  Guys, this stuff smells like MUTHAF*CKING VANILLA CUPCAKE.  I shit you not.  Putting this on was kind of tough...It’s pretty liquidy on the wand straight outa the tube, which can be hard to maneuver, but it dries pretty quickly once applied.  Now, I had to apply several layers to get a solid overlay of color, which was annoying, because the more layers you apply the tackier it gets and the harder it gets to keep applying without looking like you have a million layers on (not cute).

I’ve used this several times, and each time I have this difficulty.  Once on though, this shit doesn’t budge.  Literally all night (or day).  It lasts me all night through multiple drinks and dinner.  However, it actually feels like a literal straight jacket on your lips, if you can freakin imagine that.  It’s tight, dry, and uncomfortable.  You kind of feel like maybe it looks like shit on you, and maybe you look a little like a hot mess because of the way it feels on your lips.  It doesn’t look bad though, if I have anything to say about this product it’s that it doesn’t move, which is every woman’s biggest trouble with lip products.

So, do you recommend the Kylie Lip Kit? // Yes, for sure.  I totally recommend it, if you’re willing to shell out the cash.  This is well worth the money in my opinion, regardless of how it feels when you put it on.  Now, hear me out.  When I go shopping for lip products, I’m honestly looking for the product that is going to look the best on for the longest period of time.  I’m looking to invest in a specific or certain look, and sometimes I’m willing to pay the price of the comfort level for how bomb ass it looks on.  So I would probably give the Kylie LIp Kit a 3.75 out of 5 stars, taking 1.25 stars off for how it feels when it dries and the difficulty of application.

Side note, sista! // Don’t have $30 laying around?  Me neither.  An excellent dupe for the Kylie Lip Kit is NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick.  They have some super sexy nude shades, and it feels very similarly to the Kylie Lip texture and it has staying power that’s really on par with Kylie.  Definitely recommend these! I have several shades.

What’s your fav lipstick right now?  Drop us a line!

Ciao, Bella!
Ariel
