Personalizing Your Wedding // Wedding Tip Wednesday // Champagne + Linen // Western Montana Wedding Designers and Planners
Better late than never.
Everyone wants their wedding to be unique and truly represent themselves, but how do you do that? When you’re planning a wedding, sometimes it is so hard to take a step back from the logistics and think about some fun additions. The possibilities are endless. Here is a list of our favorite ways to make your wedding more personalized:
Late night snack // This is a pretty popular trend, but who doesn’t like a late night snack? A wedding I went to this summer had a surprise nacho bar - with queso. It was the best surprise ever. Think of your favorite guilty pleasure food. Mine is popcorn. Luckily, one of my amazing MOH’s - aka Mariah - surprised me with a popcorn bar.
Fun Dessert // Don’t like cake? Don’t waste your money. Have something you like! One of our brides is going to have strawberry shortcake instead. Yum!
Choreographed dance // I still can’t get over this. My favorite is when the groom and groomsmen surprise the bride with a dance...especially when they dance to Britney Spears and Justin Bieber.
Surprise your family members // It is your special day, but it is nice to show your family you care. Start collecting wedding pictures of your attendees - especially the grandparents - and then display them in your reception space. Make your late great grandma’s famous cookies and have them be your late night snack. Okay...I’m tooting my own horn a little bit, but I was pretty proud of these things! You could also use family pictures as part of your seating chart.
Unique guest book // Think of things that can be displayed in your home, advice cards, or even Janga!
Table numbers // Are you big travelers? Use cities or national parks that you’ve enjoyed together.
Activities // I mean, many guests will love to dance, but there will be some people who don’t. Photo booths are fun, but what about doing a video booth? That way people can share their best memories of the couple. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, what about a bounce house?!
Dress change // Mariah mentioned in our Golden Globes's blog post that these transitional dresses are coming back! If you don’t want to get that crazy, maybe add a fun sweater (or a flannel) and switch into some comfy shoes (like converse).
Welcome stand // Set up a fun welcome table before your ceremony. You could have glasses of champagne, water bottles, sunscreen, confetti for guests to throw during the recessional. The possibilities are endless!
Get wild // I came across the below video right before my wedding...I'm still a little bummed we didn't do this! It's a unique way to capture the whole day!
As cheesy as it is, you have to be true to yourself! Let that freak flag fly!
